Outro Lado (1999)
Back in 1999, we released Outro Lado, an album that captured our passion for blending Brazilian music, jazz, funk, and electronic sounds. As Zuco 103—Lilian Vieira on vocals, Stefan Schmid on keyboards, and Stefan Kruger on drums—we set out to create something fresh, something that bridged traditional rhythms with modern grooves.
With 14 tracks, including Humana, Brazilectro, and Maracatu Atômico, we invited listeners into our world of infectious beats and rich melodies. We weren't alone in this journey—talented musicians like bassist Peter Bergman and flutist Benjamin Herman joined us, adding their unique flavors to the mix. Meanwhile, the visual identity of the album came to life through Eva M. de Lange's artwork and Sannah de Zwart's photography, perfectly capturing the spirit of Outro Lado.
From start to finish, this album was a labor of love, fully produced by us and released under the labels Ziriguiboom and Crammed Discs. Looking back, Outro Lado was just the beginning of our musical adventure, and we couldn't have done it without the incredible energy of everyone involved.
