Tales Of High Fever (2002)
In 2002, we released Tales of High Fever, our second album—a journey into the heart of the Brazilectro sound we had been shaping. As Zuco 103 we set out to push the boundaries of Brazilian rhythms, jazz, funk, and electronic music, blending them into something fresh, energetic, and undeniably ours.
This album is a collection of 14 tracks, each carrying its own story and groove. Songs like Treasure, Peregrino (The Pilgrim), and Bebete Vambora reflect our passion for mixing tradition with innovation, intertwining classic Brazilian influences with cutting-edge electronic textures. Every beat, melody, and lyric was carefully crafted to create a vibrant, dynamic listening experience.
We recorded Tales of High Fever across multiple studios, from Studio Le Roy and Studio Groenland in the Netherlands to Dub Studios in São Paulo and Suzano Studio in Rio de Janeiro. This cross-continental process infused the album with a wide range of sounds and influences, capturing the essence of both our European and Brazilian roots.
When Tales of High Fever was released under Ziriguiboom, a subsidiary of Crammed Discs, the world embraced it. The album was met with critical acclaim, praised for its inventive soundscapes and the seamless fusion of diverse musical styles. It was a defining moment for us—a confirmation that we were on the right path, pushing music forward while staying true to our love for rhythm, groove, and storytelling.
